2019 \ Immersive interactive Art Installation

Glacier \ White Night

First exhibited at White Night Ballarat with support from Regional Rail Glacier is a participatory digital artwork that explores the fragility of our environment. I designed the piece as a living metaphor for our melting icecaps, where the audience is invited to actively shape and sculpt transient ice forms that slowly dissipate in real-time.

I developed the work using a generative design process that responds to gestural movement captured by a mounted sensor. My goal was to create a 'tactile' digital surface - where the audience's interaction directly drives the decay and formation of the ice. By bridging real-time interactive systems with a focus on environmental change, I wanted to create a space where the technology feels as delicate and fleeting as the ice it represents.
