Dandenong Currents \ Childrens Court Victoria
Commissioned for the Children’s Court of Victoria, Dandenong Currents is a generative interactive installation designed to bring a sense of calm and movement to a high-stress environment. As the lead artist and director working with Airbag - I developed the piece as a living digital ecosystem that evolves in real-time, responding to the quiet, shifting rhythms of the local landscape.
Rather than a static loop, we built a generative system that allows the artwork to breathe - shifting its palette and flow according to the time of day and the local seasons. Working with OnQ Digital we produced an integrated LED and light-box canvas with an in-bedded motion sensor that allowed the art to subtly acknowledge the people in the room. As visitors move through the space, the 'currents' shift and react, offering a gentle, interactive distraction and a moment of meditative connection where it’s needed most.
